By the time he returned to the mansion, Rosa had already noticed Ella's orange vest losing firmness.
Celeste insisted nothing was wrong.
Rosa entered the water and brought Ella back toward the edge.
Grant arrived to see his daughter crying while Rosa held her.
Celeste reacted instantly.
She claimed Rosa and Maya had frightened Ella, interfered with her vest and created a false emergency because they had become “obsessed” with accusing Celeste of mistreating the child.
Grant demanded the phones.
Rosa refused to surrender hers without preserving the recording.
Celeste told him that the housekeepers had been talking behind her back for weeks.
Fear became anger.
Grant ordered both women off the property.
When Rosa tried to explain that something was wrong with the vest, Grant stepped toward her and struck her once across the face.
Ella screamed.
Rosa stared at the man whose daughter she had just helped.
Maya pulled her backward before the confrontation became worse.
Within an hour both women had been dismissed.
Later that night Rosa received an official incident report stating that she had endangered Ella near the pool.
