Chapter 12 - The Camera Nobody RememberedThe construction footage arrived.
It was distant.
Part of the pool was blocked.
There was no perfect close-up of the needle entering the vest.
But the sequence was devastating.
Rosa and Maya were both visible on the far side of the property.
Celeste was alone near Ella.
Celeste appeared to look around.
She bent over the orange vest several times.
Her hand repeatedly moved toward it.
Minutes later she led Ella toward the pool.
The footage then showed Rosa moving behind the column with her phone.
Maya used her own phone.
Their actions perfectly matched the timestamps on the recording and warning message.
The video destroyed Celeste's claim that the two women had staged the incident beforehand.
Grant watched it repeatedly.
Then he saw something else.
After Ella entered the pool, Celeste did not constantly watch the child.

She occasionally looked toward the mansion doors.
As though she were waiting to see who might appear.
