Chapter 21 - The New Owner Walks In

Thomas entered Imperial Lotus three days later.
No press conference.
No dramatic announcement.
Employees lined the main dining room.
Some looked relieved.
Others suspicious.
David was absent.
Thomas stood before them.
“My company now controls Imperial Lotus.”
Silence.
“I know some of you have heard that I’m here to turn this into something different.”
He looked around at the Vietnamese artwork.
Family photographs.
Recipes.
History.
“I’m not.”
A chef in the back folded his arms.
Thomas continued:
“David's mistakes do not erase what he built.”
That surprised them.
“The food stays.”
More attention.
“The cultural identity stays.”
Someone visibly relaxed.
“The staff does not have to choose between respecting where this restaurant came from and acknowledging who financed its growth.”
Then Thomas announced the employee trust.
Ten percent of future equity distributions would benefit employees under structured eligibility rules.
Quan whispered:
“Seriously?”
Thomas heard him.
“Yes.”
Laughter.
Then Kevin asked:
“What about Mr. Tran?”
Thomas answered:
“He no longer controls the company.”
No humiliation.
No insult.
May you like
Just fact.
That mattered.
