Chapter 19 - The Choice Between Victory and Ruin

David's lenders prepared to seize his personal assets.
Thomas could buy the debt cheaply.
Evelyn explained:
“If Walker Meridian purchases it, you would control nearly every lever.”
Sarah listened.
Afterward she asked:
“Will you?”
Thomas looked at Noah and Emily outside.
“No.”
Sarah smiled slightly.
“Why?”
“Because I don't need his house.”
That was the moment Thomas finally escaped humiliation.
He no longer needed David to lose everything.
He needed the business corrected.
Walker Meridian purchased only the restaurant-secured debt.
David's personal residence remained outside the settlement.
David’s lawyer noticed.
So did David.
“Why didn't you take it?”
Thomas answered:
“Linda didn't betray me.”
